Day 1: Arrive in Paro

Day 2: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang)

  • Hike: 7 km / 4 hours round trip

  • Highlights: Iconic hike to Bhutan’s most famous monastery perched on a cliff.

  • Altitude: 3,120m (Tiger’s Nest viewpoint)

  • Overnight: Hotel in Paro

Day 3: ParoJele Dzong (Start of Tshaluna Trek)

  • Trek: 8 km / 3 hours

  • Highlights: Gentle uphill trek through pine forests, visit Jele Dzong with views of Paro Valley.

  • Overnight: Camp near Jele Dzong

Day 4: Jele Dzong – Jangchulakha

  • Trek: 10 km / 4 hours

  • Highlights: Scenic ridgeline walk through alpine forests, yak herder camps, panoramic Himalayan views.

  • Overnight: Camp at Jangchulakha

Day 5: Jangchulakha – Jimilangtsho Lake

  • Trek: 11 km / 4 hours

  • Overnight: Camp near Jimilangtsho

Day 6: Jimilangtsho – Tshaluna – Drive to Thimphu

  • Trek: 9 km / 4 hours

  • Drive: 2 hours to Thimphu

  • Highlights: Descend through forests and traditional villages, end of trek. Transfer to Thimphu.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu

Day 7: Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Drive: 2 hours to Thimphu

  • Highlights: Visit Tashichho Dzong, Buddha Dordenma, Folk Heritage Museum, and local markets.

  • Altitude: 2,334m

  • Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu

Day 8: Thimphu – Punakha Excursion – Return to Thimphu

  • Drive: 76 km / ~2.5 hours each way

  • Highlights: Visit Dochula Pass, Punakha Dzong, Suspension Bridge. Return to Thimphu in the evening.

  • Altitude: 1,200m (Punakha)

  • Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu

Day 8: Thimphu – Paro (Departure)

  • Drive: 54 km / ~1 hour

  • Highlights: Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.

  • Altitude: 1,200m (Punakha)

  • Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu
